Abstract Background Hemorrhoids are one of the frequent presenting complaints in surgical outpatient department any hospital. Multiple options available for treatment these based on grade. Recently, there many varieties energy devices being tried hemorrhoidectomy to decrease postoperative pain and achieve better hemostasis intraoperatively. This study represented an effort compare open versus closed method harmonic scalpel determine differences terms operative time, hospital stay, bleeding, pain, other complications. Method A total 40 patients, 20 each hemorrhoidectomy, were followed up 6 weeks postoperatively. Early late outcomes compared. Incontinence if was measured with Vaizey incontinence score. Result There significant prolonging time (30.25 ± 5.49 vs. 22.0 4.70). Postoperative significantly more group compared days 1, 3, 7, 21. no difference between groups Conclusion Leaving mucosa after hemorrhoidal tissue excision is comparable safety complication cost effective times utility suture materials at expense need analgesics.
